About the workplace

The Payroll Unit is part of the HR department, which belongs to the municipal executive office.

Here, the joy of work is great, and we care for each other, we think pragmatically, and we like to develop and grow – all to achieve our goals. The HR department consists of a total of 34 employees with roles such as HR Partners, HR specialists, HR controllers, HR administrators, administrators, negotiation managers, business developers, payroll managers, payroll consultants, and system administrators.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to combine system administration with payroll work and help develop Uddevalla municipality's payroll unit. The position is divided - about half of the time you will work with system administration and half of the time with payroll issues. You will be part of an engaged and supportive team with three other system administrators and several payroll consultants.

As a system administrator for Medvind, you ensure that the system works as it should and that the right information reaches both the payroll unit and the rest of the municipality. You contribute to keeping routines and processes smooth and updated. You have insight into how payroll and time data affect other systems and help find practical solutions that work for the entire municipality.

As a payroll consultant, you handle payroll administrative tasks according to the municipality's routines. You provide support to managers and employees in payroll and system issues, work consultatively in more complex cases, and contribute to the development of processes and routines. You also participate in internal training and mentoring of managers and colleagues.

Your tasks include, among others:

  • Responsible for system administration and administration related to the system.
  • Ongoing processing/runs during the month.
  • Permission administration, support, training, and user support.
  • Quality assurance of data in the system.
  • Work on improvements and participate in development projects.
  • Work on requirements specification of systems and integrations together with the business.
  • Payroll administrative tasks in line with the municipality's routines.
  • Support for managers and employees in payroll and system issues.

Who are we looking for

  • You enjoy switching between system work and consultative payroll tasks.

  • You can explain complex issues clearly and have a constructive and problem-solving approach even when the pace is high or the circumstances change.

Qualifications

  • You have a post-secondary education in system science, payroll, economics, or another education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • You have experience working in the payroll area.
  • You have experience with Medvind or similar systems.
  • You have good system understanding and experience with complex regulations.
  • You have very good Swedish in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in system administration in the public sector or larger organizations.
  • Experience with system implementations, upgrades, or improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of working time legislation and collective agreements.
